Irena Übler

COMO stands for “Cork modular“ and our passion is reshaping interior design and developing smart design solutions that allows you to co-create adaptable furniture for your home, office or shop interior. We are using mainly cork – a noble and eco-friendly material – produced 100% in Portugal and typical Portuguese material and combine it with textile straps to give it a special extra touch. The company is based in Porto.

From the design ideation to the production we develop our products locally in the northern part of Portugal. COMO differentiates by its modularity, adaptability and scalability from other furniture. With only two cork elements and connecting pieces you can build shelves, side tables, storage units and others modules without using extra tools. A simple, creative and extremely flexible way to furnish your space.

Irena is an Austrian-German Industrial Designer, graduated from the University of Applied Sciences FH Joanneum in Graz in 2010 and is living and working since many years in Porto, Portugal.

Linking profound knowledge in industrial design, enthusiasm for creativity and the fascination of developing a concept idea until a final result keeps me motivated every day in order to create new design solutions.Within my working routine I follow a process-based design methodology, elaborate concepts through experimentation to understand the characteristics about materials and combine analog and digital working methods.

A cross-disciplinary designer seeking for fresh ideas.

“I am an Industrial Designer, creating unique design solution for products, creative culture and urban territories.”
