Most Deco
Most Deco, designs and manufactures products for your home, unique and sustainable, capable of making you and those around you fall in love.
From young designer to artisan entrepreneurHis name is Julián! He is an industrial designer, and at the age of 23, he began to give shape to Most.
After several years studying in Sweden, and observing the care and sustainable management of its forests to produce Nordic furniture, Julián decided to leave everything behind and return to the place where he was born to fulfil a dream. Crazy, isn’t it?
His first collaboration with a local craftsman came in 2021. Antonio Hernansanz, a lifelong potter, was the first to commit himself to the cause, and together with him, he developed the first “most” products.
At the same time he met Ángel, a lifelong carpenter and cabinetmaker, who did not hesitate to open the door of his carpentry shop to collaborate. Ángel is able to transmit his know-how, his wide experience and his love for wood to each piece of furniture he makes.
Little by little the interest in Most has been growing, as well as the concerns for development. The incorporation of new artisan collaborators such as Fernando and Mariví, as well as the exploration of new natural materials such as wicker or hemp are now part of their sustainable adventure.
What makes them unique
They come from Cuenca, a Spanish province with a deep-rooted artisan and forestry tradition. Did you know that it is the province with the second largest forest area in Europe?
Over the years, trades such as cabinet making, pottery, basket making and blacksmithing have been consolidated in this region. Unfortunately, they are in danger of extinction, which is why, in order to preserve them, they set up this project. With their help, they have designed and co-created each of the unique pieces they make.
Taking care of the mountains of the Serranía de Cuenca, managed in a responsible and respectful way with the environment, they provide raw materials to their craftsmen. All the wood they use is certified with FSC and PEFC seals. These are systems that guarantee that a forest is managed in a socially responsible, economically viable and environmentally sustainable way. It is a voluntary process that certifies, through audits, compliance with sustainable management standards.
Sustainable processes
Most Deco follows the Zero Waste philosophy in both production and distribution. They optimize all their raw materials to get the most out of them, and the little waste that is generated is stored and used as biomass.
As for their packaging, it is made of recycled cardboard, trying to generate as little environmental impact as possible. In addition, they incorporate elements such as shredded paper or wood shavings, which for some people is a waste, but for them it serves as a great protective element in their shipments, and is also BIODEGRADABLE!
But they won’t stop there. With your help, they will be able to continue our sustainable path and implement many more actions such as:
- Using recycled wood in some of our products.
- Increasing our network of artisans to generate employment in an area in danger of depopulation such as Cuenca.
- Participate and collaborate in reforestation and forest care.
Designer/s
Most Deco was born from the dreams and desires of Julian, designer and founder of the brand, in love with his city and traditional craftsmanship, but it could not have become a reality without the contribution of each of the local artisans with whom he co-produces his pieces.
Ángel, carpenter and cabinetmaker, grew up in his father’s carpentry workshop, and developed his knowledge of the trade from the time he was teething. A whole life dedicated to working with wood from Cuenca, creating incredible pieces of furniture.
Antonio, potter and ceramist, learned the trade from his uncle when he was a teenager. His restlessness and desire to explore have led him to unleash his creativity with his drawings, colours and shapes.
Fernando, potter, ceramist and painter, is passionate about the arts and grew up in a family of craftsmen. He loves discovering and applying new techniques and glazes to his pieces. He also applies his knowledge of drawing and watercolour to the clay craft.
Marivi, engineer, designer and craftswoman, founder of the brand Vica Designs, combines her work and technical knowledge to design and produce unique handmade pieces, combined with digital fabrication.
And Erick, their art director, photographer and videographer, graduated from the University of Castilla-La Mancha with a degree in Fine Arts, specialising in communication and audiovisual creation. His father works as a carpenter, and has been in contact with wood since he was a child.
