Navicula is inspired by the microscopic diatoms that live in water and produce 50% of the air we breathe. The lamp is made from multi-layered bamboo plywood, creating a natural skeletal skin. The taut form is internally illuminated by an LED strip that emits a soft upward glow. Navicula is ideal for a dining table, living room, foyer, reception or as a sculptural lighting element. In 2016 Navicula won the Gold Best award and in 2017 the Good Design award. Navicula was featured in the Grand Designs New Zealand ‘Floating Beach Bach’ in 2020.
