Bunny & Clyde design and manufacture luxury solid hardwood Nursery Furniture. They are inspired by a nostalgic love of passing things down through the generations and this is reflected in their designs that remember eras gone-by. Their mission is to supply the market with thoughtfully designed products for the nursery that are timeless and convertible, so that they not only grow with the child, but that their functions extend beyond the nursery and into the home.
Their product´s finishes are baby-friendly, non-toxic and food-safe.
- They use 100% non-toxic plant and water based lacquers and oil sealants to finish our wood.
- They use paints that are 100% non-toxic, solvent-free, lead-free, HAPS-free (hazardous air pollutants), water and plant based, and they are also free of pesticides and herbicides-.
-The materials are eco-friendly, recyclable, renewable, biodegradable, and certified as having been sustainably forested.
- All the timbers are FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) as being sustainably and responsibly harvested.
- All glues used are water and plant based, non-toxic, solvent free.
-They use only solid hardwoods in the construction of their products and in some instances they use formaldehyde free FSC certified birch plywood (their mattress bases and drawer carcases for example).
-They do not use any MDF or wood veneers in the construction of any of their furniture.
They are committed to helping to sustain and revitalise small businesses, communities and woodworking and craft traditions most local to them by following a philosophy of local manufacturing; all of their furniture products are hand made in Ireland for the European market, using traditional wood working techniques and deliberately allowing these techniques to feature in the design detailing. Handcrafted pieces should be seen as works of art. Individual craftsmen labour to express the excellence of their skills. The slight variations and imperfections of crafting by hand make each piece unique and this lends itself to a nostalgic character that they love so much at Bunny & Clyde.
By following an ethos of design–led sustainability, their products are an investment for future generations. Mom’s and Dad’s can feel good about filling baby’s nursery with their thoughtful socially and environmentally responsible heirloom quality pieces that can be passed down through the generations. At Bunny & Clyde they love the intrinsic beauty of natural wood and how no two pieces of wood are the same; its’ colour, texture, and grain are are as individual as a person’s personality. They believe that innovative design and sustainability go hand in hand. By designing products that not only grow with your child, they aim for superior quality so that our products can be passed on for generations.
Bunny & Clyde came about when three of four friends fell pregnant virtually simultaneously and the prospect of new babies tickled our imaginations. Behind the name are sisters, Nathalie Vos and Lisa Vos, and Mariëtte Bergh, and they all share a background in various Art and Design disciplines.
With the excitement of becoming mommies to theirr own brood they soon realised that they didn’t particularly like the nursery furniture on offer coupled with the facts that most of what they found available on the market was mass-produced, generic in appearance, and exclusively for use within the nursery.
They wanted to design a timeless and versatile range so that the initial investment is in your baby’s room, but ultimately, you are left with pieces that would look great in any room of the house. And so began the journey of building a brand and creating designs for their dream nurseries. They love what they make and from Ekohunters we hope you will love it too.
