At Carlos Ortega Design they design and produce furniture, lightning, consumer goods as well as architectural solutions, mainly made of wood. Inspired by materials and manufacturing processes they deliver top quality and long lasting products.
They develop desirable products that perform well, driven by observation of usability and identification of needs. Their hands-on experience inspires and allows them to produce their own designs, providing top quality products with added value that distinguish them from the others.
In 1997, Carlos Ortega started his education in wood design. In 1999, he completes the Furniture Making City and Guilds Course at the College of Northeast London. Nominated for a City and Guilds Prize Medal for his final project. In 2000, he completes the Furniture Design and Making City and Guilds Course at the College of Northeast London.
After a year working as support cabinet-maker in different workshops in London, he decides to enroll the London Metropolitan University.In 2003 he granted an Erasmus scholarship at Politecnico de Milano University. In 2004 he graduates BA(Hons) Furniture & Product Design.
