Estepa is a brand of lamps ecodesigned from the structure of the horneros' nests, a native bird of South America. This project combines original designs, quality products and a strong socio-environmental commitment.
Design, because in Estepa they search for originality through new concepts, materials and production processes. Quality, because each lamp is handmade, using a very careful manufacturing process. And social and environmental commitment, the first because they train and employ people from the most disadvantaged sectors, opening the door to the world of work. The second, because they reuse cardboard to manufacture their lamp shades, thus minimizing the environmental impact of production.
Guillermo Cameron Mac Lean is the Argentinian designer responsible of the creation of Estepa. He design all his products emphasizing social and environmental issues.
They project from serial discards, thinking about how to make the most of materials, and at a social level, they are interested in training people from vulnerable sectors of society, both to work together with them, and to do so on their own.
