Nukak was born in Barcelona in 2016 from the work of Patricio Abreu, designer and founder, and Pedro Ribosa, professional of the audiovisual world. The brand's name and philosophy were inspired by the Nukak Maku, the last nomadic tribe of the Colombian jungle, who base their economy on the recycling of disused materials.
Nukak is committed to constant research and development, and is proud to give a second chance and extend the life cycle of materials such as tire chambers - especially bicycle and truck tires - kite surfing sails, and advertising banners, which combined with vegetable tanned leather and waterproof materials are transformed into unique handbags and backpacks.
The brand aims to become the indispensable companion of its customers, from their daily activities to their greatest adventures. All its products are handmade in Spain through an artisan process, which promote local production.
Patricio Abreu, industrial designer, combines creativity, innovation and the use of recycled materials as central pillars of Nukak. It is a return to his origins, to the beginning of his career and to what he learned from his parents: from his mother, professional seamstress of leather pieces, he learned to use thread and needle; and from his father, passionate about DIY, he learned the pleasure of working with his hands. Knowledge that has accompanied him throughout his career and helped him develop sustainable, practical and highly adaptable products.
