Taller FVK is a project created by the Chilean architect Francisco Valle Kramer, who for years has been observing nature and trying to replicate some of its patterns, mechanisms, systems and proportions to incorporate them into design objects.

Using stones as a base, the idea was to channel, in a lamp, a representation of the landscape and life that inhabits nature and incorporate it into the home. This is how Lámparas Vivas was born in 2012, a project that uses rocks as the main resource and base that sustains everything, resulting in a sculpture, machine and factor of space and living in a single object.

These rocks are collected by Francisco for their aesthetic content throughout Chile with the aim of taking advantage of that beauty and moving it to an everyday object.

Francisco Valle

When Francisco Valle was a kid he decided he wanted to be an inventor. He says that he studied architecture to learn how to project and design.

"As a boy I decided to be an inventor and I have remained in it, my parents gave me the passion and perspective of their trades, landscape painting her and the trips through the deep nature of it ", says Francisco Valle.

Rock, wood, ceramics, iron, steel, cotton and linen are the materials used by Francisco Valle, the creator of Lámparas Vivas. He has always collected stones in his travels through Chile, and the architect says he plays with the boundary between inside and outside, assuring that the joints and screens have been the result of a long development and he believes that they will never stop evolving.
