As described by the head of its delegation in Bilbao, Unai Etxebarria, «Material ConneXion is a network of Materiotecas, whose mission is to disseminate and make accessible knowledge in innovative and sustainable materials. Originally born in response to a need detected by a New York Designer, George Beylerian, who missed a place to go to consult about materials and find solutions and ideas in this field.
The concept of ConneXion Material has evolved and no longer only consists of a physical exhibition, but also has an online search engine that provides information on more than 7,000 references from around the world.
In addition, since the challenges are complex and the product design has to have a meaning, Material ConneXion has an international team of experts in materials that can propose solutions to enrich the proposals of the designers and give solution to the challenges of the industry .
