General description of Wall Chair

The Wall Chair is the result of a refurbishment project carried out by Domohomo architects in the villa that gives its name to this piece of furniture and where most of the elements are made with chestnut wood, structure, entablature, carpentries, cladding, etc. From this close proximity to this material and of such significance in Galicia, emerges the desire to continue working on it and explore all its limits. In this way, the Wall Chair becomes a place of experimentation, where the hands of a local carpenter make the imagined possible. It is a handmade work where nine pieces of wood are assembled to form the Wall Chair. Undoubtedly, the piece that has presented more difficulty in its manufacture has been the armrest. The first step is to start from a conventional section of solid chestnut wood and laminate it, making wooden sheets of about 2mm thick. Next, a mould is made with the desired curvature and, finally, all these sheets are glued around the established profile. Thus, the Wall Chair becomes an armchair, designed to contemplate the wonderful views of the Atlantic Sea.
