The ESDW is a European initiative to stimulate and make visible the activities, projects and events that promote sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is celebrated every year from 30th of May to 5th of June.
The recently adopted Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development states the determination to «ensure lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources». In particular, objectives 14 and 15 focus on the conservation of marine and terrestrial ecosystems as well as the sustainable use of these resources.
The ESDW contributes to this ambitious, universal and transformative agenda by promoting the organization of activities that have a thematic link and support for SDGs.
From Ekohunters, we would like to promote this initiative, and encourage all our readers to know more about the objectives and actions that are developed throughout the length and breadth of the European Union.
We would also like to highlight the celebration on these dates, of the World Environment Day, which also seeks to promote action in favor of nature.
This year, the host country is Canada, and the motto chosen, ‘Connect people with nature». Since its approval in 1972, the celebration aims to raise awareness about the importance of the correct and sustainable preservation of our environment.

We would like to take the opportunity to remind our readers on the importance of the implication of each and every one of us as individuals.
The actions implemented by the different governments would not be useful, if there is not a true awareness and proactive attitude on the part of each and every one of us in this regard.
The real changes, always arose from the individuals, to be assimilated by the society.
Let´s be generous in the care of what sustains us.
Let´s take action.
